Event Details

A Better Chance is coordinating an Interview Days in New York on Saturday, November 10, 2012 and Sunday, November 18, 2012.

These Interview Days are a critical part of the process for prospective A Better Chance Scholars who are applying for enrollment in one of our highly competitive college preparatory Member Schools in the fall of 2013. These short interviews help A Better Chance gain insight into the academic readiness, capabilities, talents, interests and personalities of each prospective candidate.

Volunteer Requirements: Interviewers should have a willingness and ability to do back-to-back interviewing and achieve a quick turnaround in summarizing the interview results on each applicant’s interview form.  The A Better Chance team is available on these days to support the Interviewers in their activities throughout every volunteer shift.

Volunteer Benefits: Based on past feedback, this experience offers a tremendous amount of reward for a one-day volunteer opportunity.  Each volunteer has a chance to meet some of our country’s best and brightest students of color, and most volunteers leave at the end of their shifts inspired and moved by the young future leaders they meet that day.

Below are some details about the New York Interview Day.
